We love being photographers in Denver! Not only do we have amazing scenery, fresh air, clean water, and a fun and funky city-scene, we also have some of the country’s best beer. Denver is quickly becoming one of America’s leading cities for having most and BEST breweries per capita. Denver.org boasts that “more beer is brewed in Denver than in any other American city. Not only is the Mile High City home to the world’s largest single brewery, but it also has the nation’s largest brewpub, the highest number of home brewers and is host to the Great American Beer Festival, the brewing industry’s most prestigious event of the year – the ‘Super Bowl’ of beer.” (Read the rest of the article here)
We have a lot of favorite Breweries, but the Denver Beer Company is definitely on the top of that list. In their own words: “We love the Denver lifestyle and wanted to create a brewery that matches our city’s personality. Denverites work hard, and play even harder. And after a long slog at the office or a gnarly mountain bike ride there is nothing better than a friendly place to sit and relax with friends and a pint. We welcome both oxford shirts and dirty shorts. Dogs are welcome too. Denver Beer Co is a community where patrons will likely meet a new ski buddy and swap scar stories with strangers”.
Not only are their beers incredible, (my favorite is the Graham Cracker Porter -yuuuum!), but it is in such a perfect location. Confluence Park is just a short walk away for people who want to get outdoors, and not much further than that is the heart of LoDo including Union Station and Coors Field. If you head west on the pedestrian bridge over I25, you’re in the Highlands! Seriously, could your location get any better than that?! It can’t. And for Elevate Photography, it is such a perfect location for engagement photos!
Katie’s couple, Lara and Steve, are also big fans of the Denver Beer Co. SUCH big fans in fact, that they are one of the brewery’s local hops growers, and even won an award for producing the most hops! It is a special location for the couple as it was a regular hang out spot while they were dating. They knew that for the engagement photos to really reflect who they are as a couple, it was the perfect place. They even had their rehearsal dinner for the wedding there – and I’m guessing if it were big enough they would’ve even been married there :). Anyhow, on to the photos!
