Dear Mom: I love you.
Are mom’s not the most selfless of us all? They laugh with us, they cry with us, they pick us up when we are down. They are the ones who constantly love and care for us when it takes all of them to do so. These are women whose strength is superhero quality and whose love is as pure as it can come. It is so wonderful that we have a day to honor them. However, we really should be honoring them all year round.
Moms, here is to all the sacrifices you have made over the years. The countless times you put us before yourself. When you have been tired and weary but still mustered the energy to sing and cuddle us so we could fall asleep. When you have fed us before you fed yourself both physically and mentally. When you have loved us unconditionally when we told you we hated you. When you have stood up for us and stood in for us. You have influenced our every being and allowed us to flourish. Thank you for the woman that you are, the wife that you are, the friend that you are and, of course, the mother that you are. You ROCK!
Happy Mother’s Day!
“A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.” ―Washington Irving
“Mothers and their children are in a category all their own. There’s no bond so strong in the entire world. No love so instantaneous and forgiving.” —Gail Tsukiyama
“Mother’s love is bliss, is peace, it need not be acquired, it need not be deserved. If it is there, it is like a blessing; if it is not there it is as if all the beauty had gone out of life.” —Erich Fromm
