Moab – The Land of Red Rocks

By April 15, 2017 Adventures

I needed a getaway last fall after a crazy period of time in my life.  I hadn’t traveled to Moab for quite a few years and decided to go back.  I forgot just how beautiful it was.   I spent my days hiking in Arches National Park and exploring Dead Horse Point.  I really enjoyed Dead Horse Point.  I went out there at sunrise one morning and there is something special about hearing the wind blow around you while you watch the sunrise with a cliff to the river below at your feet.  I also tried something new and stayed at Delicate Arch in Arches National Park after sunset.  I then lit the arch with a flashlight and did a long exposure to capture the glowing stars.  It was amazing being out there after dark by myself.  It was exactly the breath of fresh air I needed.  I feel very lucky to live where getting there is just a few hours away.  I definitely won’t make the period of time so long before my next trip back! – McCory
