Finding the exact words to describe Laura and Wes<\/a>‘ wedding was a challenge because they had such an eclectic mix of so many fantastic elements that cannot be summed up in one simple phrase. \u00a0It is just so fitting that their wedding was\u00a0as unique and dynamic and they are. The best way that I came up with to\u00a0describe their day is this:\u00a0Colorful Rustic Medieval Hippie Boulder-Mountain Wedding AWESOMENESS. Yeah?! And that’s\u00a0still leaving out plenty of descriptive words that will only be best understood by seeing the photos yourself. \u00a0I mean, guys, they had leather bow-ties, feather accessories, hatchets, intricately embroidered pashminas, live music, dogs, horses, fire-pits, lace-up boots, and Grateful Dead Bears…I think I’ve accurately described this day!<\/p>\n

Really though, Ryan<\/a> their photographer, tells their story best:<\/p>\n

“Laura started out her wedding day at 9am, quietly on a stroll through the aspen grove of Snow Mountain Ranch with her bridesmaids. \u00a0She wore a dress that she owned since high school when she declared, \u201cI will wear this dress on my wedding day.\u201d \u00a0She picked out saplings for centerpieces at the reception in that dress. \u00a0Her background is in botany and I was fascinated by how much she knew about all the grasses and plants that we walked through.<\/p>\n

Wes started out his day wandering the woods while riding a horse. \u00a0Yes, that\u2019s right! \u00a0He grew up riding horses and could think of no better thing to do than to go on an adventure through the woods to start his wedding day. \u00a0I knew after these first moments of the day that the rest of the day was going to be an adventure.<\/p>\n

The moment when Wes saw Laura for the first time during their first look is engraved in my heart. \u00a0I even have one of the photos from that moment as my desktop wallpaper as I write this. \u00a0As wedding photographers, we find ourselves repeating words of how we seek to capture emotion. \u00a0Not only do I feel like I captured the many emotions seen throughout their day but I was forever affected by them with their friends and their purely sweet nature.<\/p>\n

I loved that they made their wedding day their own. \u00a0Truly. \u00a0Take a look for yourself. \u00a0Their suits and dresses, hatchet groomsmen favors, aspen grove ceremony and fire dancer reception performance all made for an adventure that I had the honor to be a part of. \u00a0To put it simply, I want to be like Laura and Wes when I grow up.\u201d<\/p>\n
