Get more intimate wedding photography at your micro wedding
One of the best things about weddings is the ability to customize it to reflect who you are as a couple. Many people do this with their location, decor, and food, but you can also do it with the size of your wedding. You can have a large wedding with 200 guests or more and invite everyone you know to celebrate with you, you can have an elopement and make it a very intimate affair with just the two of you and an officiant or you can have a micro wedding somewhere in the middle. Micro weddings are being defined as a wedding with somewhere between 10 and 50 people.
A wedding this size feels perfect in so many ways. You are able to celebrate with everyone that is close to you (who really has 653 friends on Facebook?) and really focus your time on them. It is also a great way to have the wedding you’ve always dreamed of without breaking the bank. You can pick the perfect location, have the wedding dress you always dreamed of and even have some money left over for a killer honeymoon or your first home together.
At Elevate Photography we have always loved smaller weddings (we didn’t call them micro weddings until 2020) and looked forward to the lack of stress that typically comes with a more intimate affair. We love the ability to focus more time on what matters most to the couple. This allows us to get amazing photos of the bride and groom, the smaller wedding party and every guest that is in attendance. If they are there, we know they are important to the couple
To help meet the demand for micro weddings, we have put pricing together just for weddings of 50 or fewer people starting at $1,499. You can view photos of past micro weddings we have photographed here. Learn more about our pricing and other micro wedding-related information in the FAQ below. Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How much is photography for a micro wedding?
A: Micro weddings start at $1,499 and then you can build your package a la carte from there to meet your specific needs.
Q: Do you have examples of past micro wedding photography?
A: Definitely! You can view a few of them here.
Q: How long do you typically photograph for at a micro wedding?
A: The amount of time can range greatly depending on your plans. We have done micro weddings with as little as 2 hours and as many as 9. Many of the things that happen on a typical wedding day happen at a micro wedding, just more efficiently because their are less people to manage.
Q: Do I need one or two photographers for my micro wedding?
A: We can cover every micro wedding comfortably with one photographer. If you do value multiple perspectives of the day (like when the bride is walking down the aisle) and more candid photographs, we would recommend two photographers. You can learn more about the advantages of two photographers in our blog post “8 Reasons Why Two Photographers are Better than One“.
Q: Why do you like micro weddings?
A: It all comes down to more intimacy and less distractions. The fewer people you have the less distractions and the more we can focus on what is most important to you. There is also an intimacy between the two of you and you and your guests that we love and are able to capture.
Q: Why should I hire a professional photographer for my micro wedding? Since it is simpler can’t a friend or family member document it for us?
A: A professional photographer brings many skills that go beyond just “documenting” the event. If that is all you want then you can have everyone take photos with their phones. We are great at directing couples to truly capture the special relationship that is unique to them, we are skilled at anticipating the moment so the important times aren’t missed and we pride ourselves on capturing natural photos that truly reflect the personalities of you and your guests. You can’t get all of that with a phone.
