There are many things that make a wedding great. A wonderful and head over heels in love bride and groom will do it. A incredible venue with space for getting ready, an elegant great hall, gorgeous indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces, and a beautiful property, that will do it too. An day planned to the t by a wedding planner that has style, grace and an incredible sense of time, well that can make a day run better than anything. When, however, you have all these and more, you have hit the jackpot. That is where I landed myself for Lauren and Derek’s wedding. It was all the best things you can imagine.
Lauren and Derek are wonderful. They are sweet and fun loving. You know that you have good people when you walk into the getting ready room and everyone is laughing and smiling and having a great time. The boys, they didn’t want to get ready but jumped too it as soon as they were asked by Derek. These guys all stuck together, you could tell they would do anything for each other and by gosh they were going to have a blast doing it. All the girls were smiling and watching lovingly as Lauren got her hair and makeup done. Their eyes said it all, they were in awe of her beauty and so excited for her today.
Together Lauren and Derek can joke around and yet know how to melt each other’s hearts. They were both a little nervous and anxious but in the way of anticipation. They just couldn’t wait to marry each other. Every time I mentioned anything about Lauren Derek would light up.
The day went off without a hitch, thanks to an incredible venue at Crooked Willow Farms and a killer wedding planner Adrienne Gardner. There was a little bit, okay a lot a bit, of rain in the middle of the day and it didn’t set anything awry. The ceremony was held upstairs in Lola’s loft. It was drenched with warm light and hushed tones. It was intimate and elegant. Really it felt like a dream as it couldn’t have been more romantic. When their friend sang Ed Sheeran, there was a quiet reverence and sweetness that filled the air.
The rest of the day was filled with laughter as we hung out with the wedding party and danced the night away. Even during dinner I could hear all the chatter making jokes and exclaiming how much they all loved this couple.
I was so happy to be a part of Lauren and Derek’s day. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Penner!
