lets be ADVENTURERS.
Love is something that always gets me. I see too people in love and it can change my mood, my day, my outlook on life. It is something I look up to, strive for and try to appreciate everyday. I suppose that is why I am a wedding photographer.
To me, love is the great adventure. And as someone who has lived in Colorado all my life among the grandeur of the mountains and all the unexplored territory that is saying a lot. But that is what is so great about Colorado, we get to have the perfect marriage,( yes, pun intended) of and adventurous love in an adventurous environment.
Piney River Ranch is the perfect adventure spot. Tucked back in the mountains in Vail you drive through valleys of aspen trees to reach the most epic vantage point, Piney Lake. You feel like you are the only person in the world as you stare at the gorgeous mountain views and the crystal lake. It is nothing short of wondrous. This is one of the incredible venues that Colorado has to hike, bike, canoe, fish, and of course, get married. And who wouldn’t want to get married in front of a view like that? I was fortunate enough to grab some of my beautiful friends and head down to show off the space for a day. The inspiration: Lumberjack meets Bohemian betty.
Although the location speaks for itself we had lots of help. Robyn at Felice Bridal, gave us the royal treatment to find the perfect boho mountain chic dress. It was unique and flattering with the soft lace detail, gorgeous plunging neckline and open back. It could easily be dressed for a ballroom but was so fun to add the feather belt and golden locket for a more eased look.
Liz at Beauty on Location did both Chelsea, our “bride” and Amy’s hair and make-up. This girl is incredible. Not only is she the nicest person but she can make you look like a million bucks. My girls didn’t really need the help but when I saw their hair and make-up I was in awe! She nailed it. I love the elegant hair piece that Liz included as well. It was the cherry on top!
A bridal shoot would not be complete without gorgeous flowers! To say that Melissa from Ivy Lane Floral nailed it would be a HUGE understatement. These flowers were epic. All the different textures and layers and the feathers, AH! She got the loose bohemian feel like I could never imagine.
As a photographer we always have ideas and visuals that we play off of, but when you have people that are the experts, you trust to do a great job and are also so fun to work with a wedding can go from good to blow your mind very quickly. I can’t Thank Brittany, Liz and Melissa and Robyn enough. You really made my creativity flow and with you guys, it is much easier to capture the adventure of love.
