Alyssa and Zach had the perfect wedding day. Everything was as it should be, on track, happy, excited, beautiful, sentimental and of course full of love. I was prepared for this to be the case when I met with Alyssa, Zach and Alyssa’s mom Angie a few months back to finalize the details of the day. They were so smitten with each other, smiling at every detail and thought, relaxed and excited. They also had a ton of help from Angie, who really helped set the tone of the day. She had done a bunch of work for the day and you could tell. But you could also tell that this came naturally to her, as she was calm cool and collected and yes, excited.
When we arrived at The Sanctuary Golf Course the boys were at the tee box messing around. I knew they were going to be a fun crew. They all had bright colorful glasses on and where living it up at this beautiful spot. The girls were no different. When I got down to the locker room all I could hear was laughter. All the girls were making jokes and cracking Alyssa up. It was such a fun atmosphere. They were all ready to get into their dresses talking about how surprised they were their makeup made them look so good. I had to giggle to myself, these girls are SO beautiful on their own they didn’t need any of that make-up. But I love seeing when women feel great about themselves. Alyssa, was killing it from the start. My assistant Ardi made a perfect comment as we were doing photos, Alyssa’s smile is so radiant. She just makes everyone happy with it around her.
Something you might not know, or you do as it has become infamous with the Feneglio Romani clan, is that Alyssa and Zach dated in High school. Yes, and it apparently didn’t go so well as Zach dumped Alyssa at the Junior prom. But she had planted a seed in his heart and he didn’t stop thinking about her until he looked her back up many years later. They great thing was it was so fun to see all the people who were part of their story. The Priest has known the two of them for a long time and it made the ceremony so great! His sermon was a perfect reflection on the couple, the sanctity and excitement of marriage and how all the people there were so important to who they have become and who they will become as a married couple. It had you laughing and crying and swooning all at the same time. It is really cool that St. Francis of Assisi has wonderful Deacons and Priests and also the ability to allow other Priests and Deacons to join in and help with mass.
At at the end of it when they were married we all celebrated! Oh boy did we celebrate. Like I said their wedding party was awesome. They messed around and joked and had a good time during photos. Something I love so much! I think a wedding day should always be so fun. We slid from photos to cocktail hour to a delicious rib dinner. They even had custom rib bibs for all the guests with Zach + Alyssa on them. From there, the toasts had everyone crying, yes even me, Sheena and Ardi, and the dance party and band was out of this world. The Sanctuary puts on a good party in their open pavilion where you can boogie down with the fresh air and beautiful views of Daniels Park around you.
Needless to say it was a great day! Fun and fluid and the best part two amazing people got married! Congratulations Zach and Alyssa it is going to be a wonderful adventure!
