I have always heard about the Ice Castles up in Dillon but never had the chance to go. Abby and David changed that fact for me real quick. I was lucky enough to hang out with them during their engagement session which they had perfectly planned out to be a winter wonderland theme. We started at the top of Dillon Reservoir at the Sapphire Point overlook. This is one of my favorite spots in the mountains. It has such beautiful scaping views. Even though it was a little cloudy that day, we could still overlook the water with awe.
Then we headed down into Dillon to another awe-inspiring spot, the Dillon Ice Castles. I had big expectations and it was definitely different than I thought, but not any less cool. Once you got inside, there were caves and tunnels and towering walls of ice. I had said to them when we started that we probably only needed one spot and a short time inside to take photos. I mean, it was 7 degrees out after all with a windchill making it feel like -12. So, I didn’t want to torture. them. However, Abby and David are the coolest and the cutest! They just went with the flow, snuggled to keep warm, had some epic kisses and extra hugs and kept each other warm. It helped them deal with my overwhelming excitement and desire to photograph them EVERYWHERE. But what can I say, when you have a couple like them sometimes it is hard to stop!
