I love all the little things that make a wedding unique and personal. They are the things that give you insight to a couple’s love story. Sometimes they are obvious and sometimes they are subtle, but they are always sweet. Alicia and Scott’s wedding was full of them. They decided to have a wedding just the way they wanted it. It was sweet, it was simple, it was meaningful and it was a ton of fun!
We started out with what I would call our first fall day. The air was crisp but the sun was warm. The colors in Evergreen, Co were just starting to pop and everything was dusted with a golden hue. It was exactly what Alicia and Scott wanted. The girls were dressed beautiful purple that flattered both of them beautifully and Alicia’s dress was stunning. The illusion back with buttons all the way down the accent lace made is so elegant. As we all doted on Alicia and told her how beautiful she was we asked who was going to cry first. She said neither. That is one of the things I love about Alicia and Scott. They are wonderfully grounded in their love. Every time I see them together they exhibit a deep strength. Not the type of strength that is in your face and will bull you over. But the type of strength like an old tree rooted deep deep in the ground. That kind of love is a beautiful thing.
They spent their day together really focused on each other and the commitment they were making. They were well settled into every moment. Although I felt as though the day flew by I felt like they really experienced it well. They had the time to walk around and visit with all their guests, eat great food and still dance their butts off.
It was a wonderful day! Towards the end Brian the videographer and I were talking and he said something beautiful that really struck me. He said that Alicia and Scott are the type of people we can be ourselves around. I think that is the highest compliment anyone can give. It is true too. They are each sweet separately but together they are quite amazing. I am so glad they found each other.
Cheer Scott and Alicia!
