I have been looking forward to this wedding for sometime now. First of all, Brandelin and Austin are awesome. They are the perfect mix of a sweet beautiful girl and a funny strong handsome man. I figured this out very quickly when they were willing to stay in the freezing cold for their engagement session in Evergreen. So when the day finally came, I was ecstatic. Not only was I excited about this day, but there was a gorgeous fresh layer of snow. Nothing, in my mind, is more magical.
The day started out perfectly. Brandelin was calm and happy and of course looked gorgeous. She was hanging out in Ruby’s cottage, surrounded by her favorite people including moms, 3 sisters, future sister-in-law, cousin, and best friends. Everyone was having a great time hanging out in their adorable “bridesmaids” shirts and getting all dolled up. They were so cute because although they were all in tank tops, they were wearing their winter boots, prepared for anything.
The boys were also enjoying themselves in the Cigar room, drinking beer, like boys do, and messing around. Austin wasn’t sure he was ready to get into his blues, which Brandelin requested he wear, but as soon as he put them the mood changed. He looked great!
The ceremony was in Albert’s Lodge at Spruce Mountain Ranch. It was intimate and elegant, but also warm and cozy. It was the perfect spot for a rustic winter wedding. Though I hesitate calling it truly rustic because Ann Marlin from Cloud 9 Bliss pulled out all the stops with elegant draping, rows of candles and rose petals lining the aisle. This was just the ceremony. It had an elegance that can not be described. It was soft and sweet and lovely. This continued and was actually enhanced at the reception space at the upper ranch. Market lights and chandeliers hung from the ceiling, barn wood tables and chairs lined the floor and golden and wooden vases of hydrangeas and roses filled the tables. Everything was in it’s perfect place.
I knew this wedding was going to be awesome… whew.
It continued through the night with a great welcome speech by her father and a delicious fall dinner by Catering by Design. The highlight, however, of the night was Austin & Brandelin’s first dance. Perfectly choreographed it started sweet and went through 4-5 songs in which they changed from fun, to sexy back to romantic. Austin dipped her, spun her, carried her across the floor and in the middle somehow shed his jacket. It was so entertaining but I also loved that it had all the emotions. It was a wonderful twist on the first dance.
All in all, it lived up to every excitement and expectation. I know their marriage will too! Congratulations Austin and Brandelin!
