Mile High Station will open the much anticipated Ironworks event venue this fall. The building has been carefully restored and will include nearly 7,000 square feet of event space of open floor plan, original turret and a large bar. Owner Joe O’Dea noted, “we wanted to offer a modern, open space and still keep some of the original touches like the exposed brick and steel beams.” Together, the two-building complex can hold events, concerts, and festivals for well over 1,000 guests with combined indoor and outdoor space.
The Ironworks building first opened around the turn of the century (1903) and was the home of the Midwest Steel company. Mile High Station and the Ironworks buildings were Denver landmarks employing hundreds of Ironworkers and craftsmen. The two buildings (also known as the Midwest Steel Complex) produced and contributed framework to many Denver buildings including the City and County Building and East Denver High School. These historic buildings were first given new life in 2001 when the Mile High Station opened as a private event venue.
Dates for planned opening events, including media tour, will be announced shortly. Ironworks is located adjacent to The Mile High Station at 25 Larimer Street in Denver
Ironworks “The Venue with a Past” is now accepting reservations for 4th quarter 2018 as well as 2019.
