Oh how beautiful it is to see two cultures come together, and how fun to get to do it on the Fourth of July! John and Sima were able to honor both of the heritages seamlessly on their wedding day, and I could not have completely anticipated just how unique and amazing the day would turn out. I have to say that I think that every groom should ride in on a horse and every bride should most definitely be wrapped in colorful jewels. And I am so BEYOND thrilled that they hired Christian to film the day as well. We both had the privilege of shooting their engagement session as well – check it out here! Photos tell an incredible and beautiful story, but there is just something about seeing their day in motion that really reveals the whole spirit of the day – make sure to watch the video sneak peek below!
Ah man, there is just nothing like and Indian wedding. The party doesn’t wait for after dinner – it starts with the dancing! My only complaint about the whole day would be that I didn’t get to dance more along with them! I loved the way that John and his whole family fully embraced every part of the Indian traditions and how ready Sima’s family was to do it all again Western-style! That’s right, we got to have two complete ceremonies in one day, and it was so amazing to see how genuinely involved all of their guests were in both of them. The reception hall was as bright and colorful as you would expect – Honey and her team from Seize the Day Events really know how to throw a great party! The was authentic Indian food for dinner – and oh man, it was so so good! Of course, the dance party didn’t disappoint. From choreographed dances to the sentimental couple and parent dances to one of the wildest dance parties I have seen in a while – it was just pure joy all around.
John and Sima’s wedding is one of those days that there are so many incredible memories flying through my brain that it is impossible to recount them all in words – thank goodness my greater strength is showing you in the images! Ali, Christian, and I are so thankful that you chose us to capture your day – we wish you so much happiness!
