I’m so excited to share Kaylee and Karl’s most awesome wedding day with the world! These two sweet souls were so fun and easy to photograph. Katie and I felt like part of their families throughout the day and what a pretty one it was! It was filled with surprises like the afternoon thunderstorm which made us grateful for the clouds and not so hot weather that we’ve been having. We wandered the hills of Lookout Mountain in Golden and had the whole place to ourselves!
Their wedding ceremony had 1,000 paper cranes as a backdrop that the and their family made in the months leading up to the weddings. It made me want to read the book, Sadaku and the Thousand Paper Cranes. They also shared in a San-San Kudo Sake ceremony. So many special moments to photograph!
One of the other surprises that day was when Kaylee changed in to her grandmother’s kimono. It was incredible to watch how intricate of a process it was for her family friends to help put on. Their guests were in awe of how stunning Kaylee looked and it was so special to learn how much it meant to her to be able to wear such a special piece of clothing from her grandma. Thank you Kaylee and Karl for welcoming us into your lives. Congrats! –Ryan
