You might recognize Colten and Maddie as they are the Feel the Love free wedding contest winners this year! I have been looking forward to their engagement shoot ever since I met them, and it was every bit as fun as I knew it would be. These two are so full of love and have such a joyful way of expressing it that you can’t help but to smile along with them. I admire their dedication to the Lord and how they are pursuing the ways in which He is calling them to serve Him together. They had a little Bible study up on the hill (in the midst of a little rain on and off)! It was such a perfect addition to their shoot to really demonstrate their relationship.
I am also an absolute sucker for musicians and I was so pumped that they brought their guitars along. It fit so well with the cool old barn that we shot at! I got a little teary when they played “Light the Fire in my Heart”. It was really special to see them share so many of their passions together. I love engagement shoots so much because I really get to know my couples in a way that I wouldn’t otherwise. Like how much they love pinecones because they used to prank each other by hiding them in bags and pockets ands such. And I can’t forget to mention their awesome dance moves – now I am SUPER excited for this wedding! I also have to give a huge shout out to Alyssa – a long time friend of Maddie’s, and also a new assistant in the studio, who took a number of these photos! She is incredibly talented and I am thrilled to have her on my team for the engagement and for the wedding! Thank you Madeline and Colten for being so fun! – Jo
