I can absolutely guarantee that unless you are family members of Abby or Matt, you have never seen a wedding like this before. If you are wondering how to include kids in your reception take notes from these guys. You know what, if you are hoping to have a reception that all of your guests have a blast at, take notes from these two. There was never a dull moment with masked characters popping around every corner and choreographed dances to keep the party going. Seriously – I have seen the YMCA performed a bunch of times, but I know they will all be downhill after this wedding! I still wish that they guys wore their costumes for the rest of the night, but I guess I shouldn’t get greedy – so, SO good!! I loved how when they couldn’t find a knife to cut the cake, without a beat, they both just grabbed their forks and dug in! Matt and Abby are in sync like that, and like I mentioned in their engagement post, these two have such ridiculous chemistry. They made our job so easy and it is just so fun to photograph these two.
I know I started with the party, but this is not to ignore how beautiful their ceremony was. St. Francis of Assisi in Castle Rock is absolutely breath-taking. The wood features and the stained glass windows make you feel like you are truly in a holy place. It was so cool watching those moments of anticipation for Matt as he waited for Abby to walk down the aisle. He teared up a bit, but it was mostly just the biggest smiles on both of their faces. I feel like they, along with their families and wedding party, were really able to enjoy the whole day and take in every moment of getting to be together. I am so thankful to have been part of your day and let the adventure begin!
