I love hearing the stories that my couples come to us with. Meghan and Eric have been friends since elementary school! Can you believe it? We started out in Boulder at their school for a trip down memory lane. It was great hearing their many memories and was even better to be able to capture a slice of their story together. I had a first experience with them that I hope never happens again…… I had the idea to discretely carve their names into one of the trees down by the river near the school. I happily gave them my pocket knife and they took turns carving. Soon after, Meghan peacefully proclaimed, “Oh! I’m bleeding!” The knife was so sharp that she didn’t even feel it slice open her finger tip. I was so surprised that she didn’t freak out and that the cut didn’t stop them from continuing on. Definitely that the ideal way to start a shoot! It was a great example of how well these two work together because Eric sprinted to the car to get the first aid kit and bandage her up.
We then headed up to a trail near the Flatirons. It was a beautiful summer evening as we wandered the tall grasses and trees while overlooking Boulder.
I soon learned that their high school was nearby which has good views as well. I was skeptical at first thinking how could it get better than this. Well, I’m glad I was wrong because it was beautiful! I can’t wait for their wedding next Summer at Lionsgate Event Center. This time no pocket knives allowed! –Ryan
