Sydney and Kevin’s story is one of the most romantic I have heard. Sydney was living down in Roatan Hondorus as a scuba instructor. Kevin decided to quit his job, start his own business and take a little vacation in between. He had planned to be in Roatan for 2 weeks. All of a sudden his trip got extended. His friends were wondering why. He came back to get some things done and immediately headed back down to live. It wasn’t long before his friends found out he had fallen in love with a beautiful scuba instructor named Sydney. He had given up so much and moved down there because he knew. It is true too, one glance at these two and you can see the spark they share. Sheena asked Kevin as he was getting ready if he was ready for this. He said I am so ready. It is about time I married her. This would make you think they had been together a LONG time and people were getting on him about marrying this girl. It was just the opposite. When they got married they had been together 22 months but he was SO ready to marry her it just felt like forever. It is such a sweet love to see.
When I met with Syd and Gomo, as their friends call them, I was also immediately drawn to them. Every time I saw them I couldn’t help but feel at ease. I found myself laughing and talking and the time just flew. I could see how they could fall in love so easily with each other. Their wedding day was no different. All of their friends are just as fun and charismatic as them. The moment I walked into the getting ready room you could feel the energy. Everyone was having a great time and ready to celebrate this awesome couple.
The day was beautiful. It was one of our warm fall days. We had perfect light on Union Station outside of the Oxford Hotel. As we hung out downtown there were drinks and silliness and celebration. Jax Fish house even let us in early for some nostalgia and cheering on the happy couple. It was only right as this is where Kevin proposed. It obviously also fell in line with their scuba adventure love.
The ceremony was sweet and intimate inside the Oxford. I love the mode of their ceremony space with the strung lights and the old carriage doors. Kevin and Sydney’s officiant was perfectly lovely for the ceremony as well as funny representing them well. He even had a set of goggles to make them right at home. And when they were married the room filled with cheers. Their embrace at the end was priceless.
The rest of the night was flawless. Beautiful decor by Selcouth Events and Pink Posey, delicious food by The Oxford, good music and to top it all off custom drinks with little mermaids in them! It was such a fun day and night. I can’t wait to see them again next week to celebrate some more with a day after session. Make sure you check it out!
Congrats guys! You make an awesome couple and I am very very happy for you.
