What do you say about people like Katie and Nick. I have been blown away by them the moment I met them. They have that “je ne sais quoi”. They are special and frankly, I like them. When they told me that they wanted me to photograph there wedding day I was over the moon. I am pretty sure I did a little dance. Which turned out to be totally appropriate. The entire adventure has been awesome. I love what I do. For me it is beyond taking a pretty picture. I love the people I get to meet. When you see two people like Katie and Nick partner up in this thing called life, well, that is significant and special and I can’t believe I get to be a part of it.
Needless to say, we all cried. All day, we cried tears of joy. These were some of the sweetest moments I have seen. From Katie’s mom’s constant tears of joy to seeing her dad’s mouth gaping open when he saw her for the first time I knew that was the start of it. Nick and Katie’s first look was so sweet and intentional. They reveled in each others joy (and good looks). Mom and dad, friends and family were all watering up throughout the day. It got me too. I want to say they spiked the water with something, but honestly there were so many moments to be happy and overflowing with joy about.
Everything was perfect. From the weather to the details all thought through thoroughly by the couple. The day was made for their guests to celebrate in comfort and style. The dining room at The Sanctuary was stunning with the towering florals and candles. The silvers and purples were elegant yet complimentary to the raw stone of the space. Although it sprinkled for a short minute, the rain brought the most beautiful light for the rest of the day. I kept saying to my second shooter, the light could literally not be more perfect.
And so the day went. Nothing could have been more perfect. I am so happy that is what Katie and Nick got. The joy they bring to the lives of people around them is enough to say they deserve the world in return. For each other, Katie and Nick are it. The real deal of deep and true love that makes the other better, stronger and sweeter. Together they are a force to be reckoned with and will have an incredible marriage! Thank you for letting me be a part of the sweet beginnings of an epic adventure!
