Every time I see Katie and Tina I smile. So when I saw them on their wedding day you can bet I was beaming. I just like them and knew this day was going to be wonderful. When Janae and I arrived they were in the highest of spirits. In their natural fashion, they were making sure everyone was doing good and spreading cheer. We got ready at Table Mountain Inn. Since they met in college the share a friend group. It was great that their getting ready rooms were right next to each other. The girls just bounced back and fourth hanging out and admiring both Katie and Tina. It was a fun energy. It further reminded me how good this day was going to be.
We all knew Katie was going to be emotional. Even the thought of this day made her cry. She got to marry the love of her life. Tina, on the other hand, was on lock down. She was incredibly happy, but (apparently) doesn’t cry. Leave it up to Katie to break down all the corners of Tina’s heart. Katie gave Tina a camera and recorded a little video on it. She said press play and as Tina saw Katie’s face come on the screen and heard her voice the tears came. She might not want me to tell you this but it just proves that Katie melts Tina. They are the perfect compliment. To think they didn’t like each other at all at first is crazy. They fit together so perfectly I could never imagine anything else.
The first look was just as touching. I cried. Again. I just couldn’t help it. The love radiates from these too. As we did photos at Boettcher over looking the Continental Divide, I couldn’t help but feel like their love was filling the whole valley. I really didn’t have to tell them to do anything. They just naturally moved from laughing to snuggling to being sweet to looking glamorous. It was glorious.
I will leave you with this. You know that love is love and love is great when you experience the moment I did watching the first minutes of Katie and Tina being married. It was the sweetest thing I have ever seen in my 180+ weddings. The pure joy and excitement as they snuck away and celebrated was incredible. They held each others faces and looked into each other’s souls as if saying you are the one my soul loves and now we are bound forever. It was incredible. I know that their life together will be an endless adventure.
Congrats Katie + Tina, your love is an inspiration.
