Andy and Sam are married and I could not be more excited. These two are everything I love about love. They are two people who have found their strengths in their individualism and lives and then saw something so amazing in the other person that they knew would add so much more to their lives. They celebrate and encourage each other’s strengths and support all parts of the other.
There were two distinct moments in this wedding that really showed this. The first was the ceremony. It started with Sam and Andy walking down the aisle together, hand in hand to start their marriage. This is a tradition in many other countries but I have never actually seen it happen at a wedding. I was so excited. It was unique to their story and really supported the equal nature of their marriage.
The second moment was the best man’s speech. He began, like many toasts begin, with stating how amazing Andy is. The funny thing is that Andy would never brag about these things himself. In fact, I was so surprised to hear a lot of it. Because he is so humble I had no idea all the amazing things that he has done. The wonderful part was when the speech took a turn to state how incredible Sam is and how she enhances Andy so well. They empower each other. Two people who are strong and powerful on their own (they are lawyers after all) who realize that they are so much better with the other person. It was so beautiful.
I enjoyed every moment of this wedding. Every time I look at the pictures and see Sam’s smile I know. This is true love. . A love that will make them stronger, A love that will binge watch Lord of the Rings together. A love that will dance the night away. A love that will last a life time
I can’t wait to see all the wonderful things they do together. Congrats Samantha and Andy!
