As Sarah and Blaine gave their thank you speech after all their wonderful toasters something Sarah said really stood out to me. She was talking about sharing the best day of their lives with all their favorite people. It wasn’t the cliche “your wedding day is going to be the best day of your life.” As Blaine talked about how unique it was to have all their favorite people in one room, meeting each other and swapping stories you could hear in their tone, you could see on their faces, this was the single best moment they have had yet. What a gift.
As soon as we got to The Brown Palace we were flooded with energy, excitement and “let’s do this.” Sarah and Blaine had been waiting for this day for a long time. Now that it was finally here Sarah could wait no longer to get to the ceremony. Their hotel room was so calm that we had tons of time to do all the little things. Sarah, just wanted to get into her dress. For the first time, I wanted to make time run faster for a bride. The boys were on the other side of the hotel already fully dressed and just as excited to get going.
The church was also full of buzz. Everyone shuffling around to greet eachother with hugs and laughs. It was a beautiful catholic ceremony but entirely unique to Sarah and Blaine. They faced the alter for most of it as if they were having a private moment between just the two of them and the priest. It felt intimate and sweet. They also had some unique elements such as a bag pipper and my first ever daytime sparkler exit.
The reception had its unique and personalized touches too. Every moment was charged with excitement. As the bridal party entered all the light dimmed and everyone in the room was waving glowsticks in the air. I have seen a lot of grand entrances and they are all loud and fun, but this one was turned up to the next level. Elite DJ and The Brown Palace staff did a wonderful job of setting the scene.
The whole day was cool to see how Sarah and Blaine transitioned from moment to moment. I feel like they were fully able to be present in each situation and setting. They took it all in from the reverence of the ceremony to the words of their guests to the party. This was astonishing to me and so wonderful. I can’t wait for them to continue their lives together and live in each moment.
Cheers to Mr. and Mrs. Miller!
