Brooke and Nate came to beautiful Colorado to shout it off of the mountain tops that they were in love. It couldn’t have been more perfect. The day was clear and crisp. The sun was warm and we had the perfect covering of snow. Nate, met me at the top of Sapphire point to see his bride for the first time on their wedding day.
Nate and the boys were there is high fashion. They had picked up some cowboy hats and had these awesome yeti coozies to hold their beer. Though they weren’t drinking the beer of the Rocky Mountains, they made up for it with how fun they were. I will admit that the ring bearer and their dog Hank stole the show a little. They were both just so cute. The boys, however, were all looking dapper and having a great time. Nate was all smiles. He was so incredibly ready to see his bride to be.
When Brooke walked up I was floored. This girl is gorgeous! Nate is one lucky man and he knows it. They are perfect together too. They just fell into each other’s arms like old friends and lovers. During a wedding I try and slow the couple down so they can really take in their wedding day. While I told Nate to hold Brooke in his arms and believe and convey that this is the one place that she is safe from all things. As if he could protect her from all hurt, fear and pain with just the wrapping of his arms. The most incredible thing happened. They just sunk into that moment. The rest of the world melted away and for that time, there really was nothing else. Needless to say, we all cried. It was magic.
That is when I knew how incredible these two people are. All their friends and family, however, have known it for years. They were hooting and hollering the whole day in celebration of what they had known for years. The atrium was full of laughs and embraces and the party had an big energy to fill the space of Silverthorne Pavillion. It was such a great day. I am happy I got to see Brooke and Nate get married and make life a little better.
Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Shumaker!
