Oh fall, how I love you. The sweet smell of wet leaves drifting off trees, and the vibrance of their colors speckling the mountain. It is lovely and romantic and if you ask me, the perfect time to get married. Colorado has an especially beautiful fall. Carly and James knew this when they picked Frost Creek in Eagle, Colorado for their wedding. It did not disappoint.
It was a perfect fall day. Scratch that, it was the perfect day. When we arrived the boys were strolling into the venue singing and the girls were bustling around the locker room getting ready. Everyone was coming in and out with giant smiles on their faces. Carly had a calm excitement. James was rearing to go.
The ceremony was at the Chapel at Beaver Creek and was wonderful. The priest was sweet and entertaining. He made everyone laugh and yet spent time reflecting as well. It had all the emotions a marriage should have and a great way to start one. The highlight, however, was Jame’s face as Carly walked down the aisle. This is a face all us women long for. He couldn’t hold in his tears and we were all glad he didn’t. He just looked up as if thanking God for this amazing woman.
I have to say that between the wedding party serenading them, the early starting dance party, the hilarious toasts, the boys singing on the way into the getting ready and the bridal party entrances this is one of the most fun weddings I have ever been to. There was endless joy jumping from table to table. The family was lively and present. Their friends all had beautiful gifts of humor and talent and sweetness that they were able to share. One of Carly’s maids of honor even sang “At Last” for their first dance song. And she killed it! Every moment was full and I could not stop smiling.
The best part of the night (and why I admire this couple and their love for one another so much) was when we took them outside for a few more photos. Allie asked them to practice their first dance. They did the whole thing. Carly sang and they sunk into the moment and enjoyed being married. James thanked me for making them slow down and I was speechless. I just witnessed a bubble where there was nobody else in the world but them. They were celebrating their past, their present and their future as husband and wife. I can’t describe the feeling, but all I can say is that it is heart-melting.
Thank you Carly and James for blessing us all with your great love and showing us how much fun it can be. Cheers to you!
Thanks to all the incredible vendors!
