Jackie and Mike are married! They brought all their closest friends and families for an intimate and glamorous mountain wedding at the Beaver Creek Chapel and the Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa. What an incredible location for the wedding of their dreams. Jackie and Mike met at a ski meet-up group. They had fallen in love and come to Colorado to enjoy one of their passions together. Where better to get married then a place that reminds them of the first day they met?
The day turned out perfectly. Yes, it was a cool 18 degrees outside and everyone was a little concerned about spending time outside. That didn’t matter, however, to Jackie or Mike. They were so excited about their day that they didn’t even think twice about the cold. As they were announced man and wife and headed onto the steps of the Chapel at Beaver Creek their entire wedding cheered. The love of their friends and family were there to keep them warm.
I love intimate weddings. I felt like I could see every link, every small and large connection between the people. All of Jackie and Mikes favorite people were there swapping stories and dancing the night away. There were enough people for a great party and also just the right amount that everyone could talk and get to know each other. If they didn’t already know each other. The smile on Jackie and Mikes face never lightened or faded as they hugged and laughed with and celebrated with their people.
The scene was set beautifully by White Birch Weddings. From Jackie’s gorgeous embellished mermaid cut dress and Mike’s suave all black suit to the sequence table clothes decorated with white plates, soft winter blue napkins and full and elegant white floral arrangements, everything screamed winter mountain elegance. It felt light and comfortable just like Mike and Jackie’s easy going personality but had the glitz and glamour that took it to the next level. I especially loved the carved wood keepsakes on each place setting.
My favorite part of the day, however, was when Jackie walked down the aisle. I had just said to Mike that he was going to freak out when he saw her. He asked me if he would do a little dance. I said “probably”. What actually happened was awesome. Jackie stepped up through the big glass doors and Mike took one look at her. As if he had to pull his eyes away with all his effort, he looked down at me and mouthed with emphasis “WOW”. He had to mark that moment. When he saw his incredibly gorgeous bride. The woman that he got to spend the rest of his life with. At that moment, I knew how intense their relationship was and how wonderful their marriage would be. I am so happy for Jackie and Mike. Here’s to a million smiles, kisses and happily ever afters!
