They say it is good luck to rain on your wedding day. This comes from a multitude of traditions. When you tie a knot, the threads are harder to unravel. When that knot gets wet, it is near impossible for it to unravel. I love this sentiment. The strength of a marriage relies on a lot of things. It is two lives intertwining to a degree which can not be separated. I also like to think that in a good marriage, rain or shine, your love still endures. This is for sure the case with Monique and Tim. In fact, despite being a little wet and cold their wedding day was still full of so much love and laughter. The joy radiated past the weather and brought such a glow to the day. I remember as soon as I stepped into Monique’s house being so excited that I got to spend this day with her.
Honestly, it went perfectly as I imagined. Everyone was calm and all smiles. Tim lit up and was lighting up all the rooms around him. He is so charismatic and charming. You can totally see why Monique is so head over heels in love with him. It is cute, on the other side, to hear Tim talk joke about how he is marrying up and how incredible of a woman Monique is. We all knew it but it radiates so much in his heart that even during his vows he had to remind us all of her incredible qualities and how lucky he is to have her.
I had a blast at this wedding. I laughed and cried and did a little dance to warm up, like most of the guests. The Boat House at Wash Park was glowing under the twinkle lights and glow sticks on the dance floor. Monique and Tim had plenty of custom wine to keep everyone warm as well. Everyone was roaring with laughter during toasts and it was the first time I saw a groom go around table to table during his thank you speech to introduce and call out all the people he was so excited to have at his wedding. It felt like a huge room of family. People so interconnected and happy that you wouldn’t think that everyone knew each other for years. That is what these two do. They bring people together and love them well. If they do that so passionately for others can you imagine how well they do it for each other?!
This is a love to weather the storms and bring out the sunshine in any situation. Thank you for letting me celebrate your wedding day with you Monique and Tim! I am so happy for you!
